Valvular heart disease is a condition in which the heart valves are inflamed or damaged. There are several types of valvular disease in which, Valvular stenosis and Valvular insufficiency are the main two types. Stenosis occurs if the size of the valve is smaller than the normal. The treatment depends on the type of valve affected and the severity of the disease condition. The aim of the treatment is to protect the valve from further damage, reducing the symptoms and repairing or replacing the affected vein. Medicines are prescribed to treat the damage. Some medicines are stopped after surgery and some medicines are continued for life long. Surgeries are done to repair or replace the affected or damaged vein.
